The Kenneth C. Griffin Cancer Research Building (GCRB) heralds a new era in cancer care. Soaring 12 stories above UHealth’s Miami campus, the GCRB stands as a testament to what philanthropy makes possible. Within its 244,000 square feet, scientists and clinicians work side by side, accelerating discoveries from lab bench to bedside and expanding access to more than 500 clinical trials. Designed to unite research, treatment and supportive care under one roof, it reflects a bold promise of innovation and compassion to those we serve. For our donors, this building is more than glass and steel. It is your vision made visible, a powerful investment in hope, healing and the relentless pursuit of cures. Read More.

Mary Spencer’s connection to the Miller School and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute spans many years, reflecting a deep and enduring engagement with the University of Miami community. Last month, a dedication ceremony was held on UM's Coral Gables campus to celebrate Mary’s gift of a sculpture by Jedd Novatt, titled "Chaos Herrirako Atea." The monumental steel work is a rigorously dynamic, non-representational composition. Mary Spencer generously gifted and dedicated the sculpture in loving memory of her husband, Sash.
WHY I CARE
“My own family’s experience made me think of ways to bring together technology, medicine and biology to serve society in a way that is much more geared towards the patient’s story, the family story.”- Niven Narain
