More than 4,900 undergraduate, graduate, law, and medical students walked across the Watsco Center stage as the University of Miami celebrated the first spring commencement of its second century.
A distinguished lineup of speakers—including alumni scholars, authors, athletes, and industry professionals—shared their words of wisdom with new graduates at seven commencement ceremonies held over three days this May.
With a lifetime of generosity to the University of Miami, Herbert, B.B.A. ’55, M.B.A. ’58, Ph.D. ’23, along with his wife Patti, B.B.A. ’57, made significant investments in academics and student life through landmark gifts to the business school and state-of-the-art wellness center, among many others.

Join the Philadelphia Canes to help care for the Lemon Hill area in Fairmount Park. Gloves will be provided as we work together on pruning, weeding, and planting new greenery. Please wear appropriate gardening clothes. Once the work is done, we will unwind with a picnic in the park.
