Schools, colleges, and campus groups mark the centennial with events and receptions
As part of the celebrations marking the University’s 100th birthday, and as we embark on our next century of discovery and innovation, several of the U’s schools, colleges, and other areas are hosting special centennial-themed events during April. With receptions, thought-provoking lectures, and special tours, there is something for everyone.
The nationwide Sprint to Our Centennial tour, led by Canes Communities, the University of Miami Alumni Association, and Pat Whitely, Ed.D. ’94, senior vice president for student affairs and alumni engagement, is almost at an end!
The final sprint event takes place on April 1 as the Chicago Canes welcome alumni, parents, and friends of the U to Halas Hall, part of the Chicago Bears headquarters, for a memorable evening featuring a fireside chat with guests Paul Pavlou, dean of Miami Herbert Business School, and Dan Radakovich, M.B.A. ’82, vice president and director of athletics. Former Miami Hurricanes and Chicago Bears great Greg Olsen, B.A. ’07, will moderate.

Building a brighter future together on #OneDayOneU Giving Day
On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the University of Miami will hold its sixth annual Giving Day, a high-energy 24-hour celebration of community-driven philanthropy. This year’s event takes on special significance, coming just five days before the University turns 100—marking a century of achievements and an even brighter future.
Celebrate Women’s History Month at the Bill Cosford Cinema with a special screening of the new drama “Lilly,” accompanied by a fireside chat with acclaimed film and theatre producer Jayne Sherman, B.A. ’67, who co-executive produced the movie.
Join the Southwest Florida Canes for a luncheon commemorating the University’s centennial year, with special guest Dave Wannstedt, former Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins head coach and former University of Miami assistant football coach.
Calling all tennis fans! Join the Miami Canes and the College of Engineering Alumni Association at Hard Rock Stadium for an evening of fast-paced action at the Miami Open 2025.
