Cane Kickoff 2025 saw more than 3,000 new students from across the country and around the world begin their journey at the University of Miami, connecting with new classmates, exploring campus, and immersing themselves in the vibrant traditions of the U as it enters its second century.
Dozens of Canes gathered virtually earlier this summer for the official launch of the Alumni Association’s newest affinity group: for those who led student organizations during their time at the University of Miami—and who are passionate about staying connected and giving back.

You can cheer on the team in the company of fellow alumni and friends at game watch parties hosted by Canes Communities around the country. Alumni engagement team honored at national level by professional peers
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) recently bestowed on the University’s alumni engagement team a Circle of Excellence silver award for its regional volunteer engagement initiatives. The team was recognized as an advancement leader out of 4,400 entries from 640 institutions worldwide. In addition, Erica Arroyo, B.S.C. ’03, M.A.L.S. ’08, associate vice president for engagement, was named a CASE laureate for her service to CASE and for her dedication to advancing education to transform lives and society.
