As more than 2,800 incoming first-year and transfer students and their families descended on the University of Miami for 2024 ’Cane Kickoff, the University’s weeklong orientation program that precedes the new academic year, Coral and Ibis Residential Colleges welcomed residents for the first time. They are the first two of five planned residential colleges to make up Centennial Village and part of the second phase of the multiyear plan to modernize and reimagine campus housing.

Planning to attend the season opener against the University of Florida? Join us in Gainesville for the official pre-game tailgate as the Hurricanes take on the Gators on Saturday, August 31. The tailgate will include many of your favorites: an all-you-can-eat buffet, two (2) drink tickets for beer and/or wine for guests 21 years of age and up, a live DJ, guest appearances, and a special gift for each guest.

We are commemorating the University of Miami’s 100th birthday next April with a nationwide tour celebrating a century of academic achievement, groundbreaking research, and community impact. The first stop is Tampa, where Pat Whitely, Ed.D. ’94, senior vice president for student affairs and alumni engagement, will host a reception featuring special guest Coach Katie Meier. Light bites and beverages will be provided.
