Canes Communities around the country rolled out the orange and green carpet with 11 Summer Send-Off celebrations hosted by alumni and parents for more than 600 incoming first-year students.
Scholarship support helped engineering alumnus Robert E. Sanchez graduate from the University of Miami debt-free, giving him a strong start as he embarked on a career that would eventually lead him to become chairman and chief executive officer of Ryder. Upon his retirement in 2026, the Ryder Charitable Foundation honored Sanchez’s legacy by establishing the Robert E. Sanchez Future of Excellence Scholarship in the College of Engineering.
When Harvey Harris was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958 while studying at the University of Miami, he made a promise to his parents: One day, he would get his college diploma. Sixty-eight years later, he finally fulfilled that commitment.
The University of Miami Business School recently launched a 10-month master of science in management program. Designed to fill the gap between a bachelor’s degree in any major and a career in business, this hybrid program gives recent graduates and early career professionals from a wide range of academic backgrounds practical management, leadership, analytical and digital skills to build momentum they can leverage throughout their professional lives.
